“I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.” – Michael Jordan

There is something about reading the failures of successful people that is almost encouraging to normal people such as myself. When you look at a person like Michael Jordan who has achieved the pinnacles of fame and basketball excellence, it’s seems as if the path there was seamless. But it was not. What this quote really encompasses is an ode to trial and failure which ultimately leads to success. Jordan documented many of his gut-wrenching shortcomings yet we still know wha he was able to achieve. It certainly speaks to the fact that failures are just roadblocks and does not completely impede the path to get where you want to go.
